Directed – Directed by Terry Marcel. With Richard Hatch, Kay Lenz, John Saxon, Peter O’Farrell. Three people are transported into a parallel reality, where they find they must use modern technology, but medieval weapons, in order to save the citizenry from a murderous warlord.

What About movie – Through a series of coincidences, Carrie, Dan and Dr. Hartmann all fall through a teleporter device Hartmann has invented. Transported to a what appears to be a prehistoric world in a parallel universe and unable to find the Doctor, Dan and Carrie must figure out a way to get back home. Before they can do that, however, they must deal with tribes of savage cavemen, as well as brutal warlord named Kleel who has taken a liking to Carrie and seems to be unusually well-supplied with Earth technology.

There’s this silly scientist (Kenneth Hendel), you see, who has managedto create a machine, a Material Transmitter, which can, well, transmitstuff into a parallel universe. And then there’s this female reporter(Kay Lentz), see, who’s gonna do a report of the man and then there’sthis ken-do fighting cable guy (Richard Hatc), who because of anaccident gets hooked up in this and they all are like sent into aparallel universe. And in the parallel universe there’s some green dude(Ray Charleson), a giant (Larry Taylor), an annoying little thief(Peter O’Farrell) and this, like, evil warlord (John Saxon). And guesswho’s gonna get napped by the warlord and who is gonna do inventionsfor him. And who’s gonna safe the day.Prisoners Of The Lost Universe is my first camp movie love. When I wasa kid I must have watched it dozens of times, even tough it is flat outsilly film, whit poor settings and obviously small effect budget. Thatis the reason I am a bit too generous with my score.POTLU isn’t nothing more, than a low budget action/sci-fi/fantasyflick, which, if you are into this kind of films, will make a grin onyour face just because it is, what it is. And, at least in the firstviewing, you can’t help but to applaud for the inner logic of the storyand the world. A pod gun. Black and white red eyes pygmies, hot stoneworshipers and much, much more.In a word, if you are watching this film, you most likely are into lowbudget camp films, and thus can appreciate this film for what it is.

What About movie – In a mythical Japan, Ko-Ko, a cheap tailor, has been appointed Lord High Executioner and must find someone to execute before the arrival of the ruling Mikado. He lights upon Nanki-Poo, a strolling minstrel who loves the beautiful Yum-Yum. But Yum-Yum is also loved by Ko-Ko, and Nanki-Poo, seeing no hope for his love, considers suicide. Ko-Ko offers to solve both their problems by executing Nanki-Poo, and an agreement is reached whereby Ko-Ko will allow Nanki-Poo to marry Yum-Yum for one month, at the end of which Nanki-Poo will be executed, in time for the arrival of the Mikado. But what Ko-Ko doesn’t know is that Nanki-Poo is the son of the Mikado and has run away to avoid a betrothal to an old harridan named Katisha. The arrival of the Mikado brings all the threads of the tale together.

I came to this movie expecting a full-scale professional performance,encouraged by the presence of authentic Savoyard Martyn Green in thecast (he plays Ko-Ko). But this movie adaptation is pretty far gone.For the first 20 minutes Schertzinger channels Quentin Tarantino: Hegives us a capsule summary of the whole plot, followed by a flashbackto Nanki-Poo’s departure from court (including “If you want to know whowe are” and some dialogue pilfered from Act II). Then Nanki-Poo singsthe first verse of “The sun whose rays” — Yum-Yum’s song from Act II– just to mix things up a bit. After that it settles down with aclassical “Wand’ring Minstrel I” (interrupted only by oneVillage-of-the-Damned-looking little girl tugging on Nanki-Poo’s sleeveduring “Oh, sorrow”).Green’s Ko-Ko and Sydney Granville’s Pooh-Bah are reasonable facsimilesof the stage roles, although they do manage to botch most of Gilbert’sjokes with a wooden delivery — and in many cases the punch lines aresimply cut out! (Note to screenwriter: “On the Marine Parade!” isn’tfunny in isolation, you know.) John Barclay’s Mikado is appropriatelydiabolical, although his evil laughs are curtailed by the cutting of “Amore human Mikado”‘s middle half. Kenny Baker’s Nanki-Poo is aninoffensive tenor (contradiction in terms?); Yum-Yum, on the otherhand, sounds like one of the Chipmunks in most of her songs.The songs also suffer.

What About movie – Seth Brundle, a brilliant but eccentric scientist attempts to woo investigative journalist Veronica Quaife by offering her a scoop on his latest research in the field of matter transportation, which against all the expectations of the scientific establishment have proved successful. Up to a point. Brundle thinks he has ironed out the last problem when he successfully transports a living creature, but when he attempts to teleport himself a fly enters one of the transmission booths, and Brundle finds he is a changed man. This Science-Gone-Mad film is the source of the quotable quote Be afraid. Be very afraid.”

Someone decides to remake a camp horror movie ? One thing’s for sureand that’s it’s got to be better than than the original where a man whoswaps heads with a fly walks about a house with head gear that lookslike Michael Jackson’s Blanket baby costume Hey I enjoyed this remake a lot and is certainly David Cronenberg’smost mainstream movie . Like most successful horror movies ( HELLRAISERfor example ) it confines itself to human elements like desire , hubrisalong with a love triangle and uses a limited number of locations inthis case most of the action takes place in Seth Brundle’s apartment .There’s something present here that is totally lacking in nearly everyhorror movie of the 1970s and 80s and that’s pathos , we feel sorry forBrundle as he has his genes spliced and starts to mutate intoBrundlefly and in many ways the movie feels more like an update ofJames Whale’s FRANKENSTIEN or a remake of THE WOLF MAN featuring aninsect mutation instead of lycanthropy . This type of poignancy wasabsent from the 1980s where horror ” heroes ” were Freddy Kruegar whowas an ethereal child molester killed by vigilante parents . That alonemakes THE FLY unique . The final scene were Brundlefly emerges from theteleport after merging with metal and wants Veronica to end hissuffering is a truly touching scene almost unheard of in the genre Being an 1980s movie means we’re devoid of CGI and count your blessingsfor that because the make up here deserved throughly deserved the Oscarit won .

I once asked William Gibson if he was familiar with this movie and hesaid he had not seen it. I think he saw it as a kid and it was buriedin his subconscious, as it is almost the same plot as Neuromancer. Agiant computer becomes conscious and knows that if men become aware ofit they will destroy it, so painstakingly it makes tiny adjustments tothe outside world. With the help of an unwitting human its goal is toplace itself outside of mans control, in space. Robby the Robot is thecoolest machine servant ever designed. The flying of the giant kite isgreat! Does any one know if the person who designed Robby had anythingto do with the Wizard of Oz? Because Robby’s head looks like aminiature version of the stage where the wizards face and flame wouldappear? Thanks.

Adult sci-fi fans shouldn’t be turned off by the title of this film,thinking that it’s just for kids. INVISIBLE BOY has quite a bit of witandhumor which adults will appreciate, such as the father droning on at thedinner table about computers, or the IB’s parents’ attitude towardschild-rearing in the 1950s. As a matter of fact, the IB disappears (nopunintended) for a large portion of the film, and you almost forget that he’spart of the plotline. The boy himself isn’t cloying, which makes the filmall that more viewable for adults, but pre-teens probably will find himrealistic when compared to other child actors of the period.

“The Ballad of the Sad CafГ©” worked hard at its image, but when it camedown to crunch-time, it was left standing in its own self-created dust.One cannot image saying this out loud, but if Vanessa Redgrave’s Ameliawere to fight John Wayne or even Clint Eastwood, my hard-earned dollarswould have to go to Redgrave. Her portrayal of Amelia was as close toperfection and consumed with more detailed dedication than most actorsare willing to give to any multi-million dollar contracted persona.Redgrave gave Amelia this soulful drawl that was a blend of her ownunique voice and a hard-earned woman from the south. To the averageviewer, this could be construed as annoying, but as the film progressedit became her – Miss Amelia transforming this stage beauty into aroughneck. It was Redgrave’s performance, as well as her interactionwith the other characters, that made this film stand tall – but not thetallest. The others following her performance were needed, but notstellar. As we moved past the murky clichГ© image passed on by every setdesigner hired for the post-Depression South job, the minor charactersfelt like poster board. The image was needed to set the scene, but thecharacters of the town had no other purpose. Take for example RodSteiger’s vision of some old, wild spoken preacher. His scenes alonewill make any viewer question the validity of this off-the-beaten-pathtown.

Low-profile Walt Disney live-action drama/history lesson, based onEsther Forbes’ book, about a young man in 1773 Boston who becomesinvolved in treacherous wartime activities. Pleasant, if unremarkable,film on a small-scale. Hal Stalmaster is fine (if uncharismatic) in thelead, but supporting players Luana Patten and Jeff York are very good.Sebastian Cabot steals the picture with a delightfully nasty portrayalof an upper-crust snob. The Disney studios would eventually get muchmore adventurous than this with their dramatic output, but there aresome finely-wrought scenes here that engaged youngsters at the time.

Now, through a strange and sudden set of events, he is given an option : go to jail, or be a cowboy teacher at a Boy’s Ranch. Saddled with a dozen young boys wild as any bull he ever faced, his mission was simple: teach young Danny (Brock Pierce) how to ride a bull. Very reluctantly, Smokey agrees, not realizing that Danny will be far more of a teacher to him than he ever dreamed.

At the beginning, I had no expectations. When I identified it as areligiousfilm, my expectations came in low. I found the film to be quite enjoyable,however … even though I was predicting events before they were shown.Thisis definitely a film the entire family can watch together, and those arerare today. Performances aren’t Academy Award material, but they fit thefilm quite well. Enjoy.

It takes a special kind of person to care for three orangutans. Whenthe added bonus is 5 million dollars, what more could you ask? Thismovie has everything! Action, comedy, romance, and, of course,orangutans.Tony Danza is his usual self, moderately funny and passable as aleading man, but Danny DeVito as Laszlo steals the show every time heis on camera. The orangutans don’t do too bad themselves. And the threebumbling goons – icing on the cake. Many may pass this gem by asstupid, but I feel it acts as a social commentary on man’s relationshipwith beast, and is a true vision of how he treats himself, asorangutans are a very close relative genetically.Rusty, Poppy, Teeger!! Three names that Hollywood may have forgotten,but the eternal movie gods never will.

Spoilers herein.I see a lot of movies, and many many of them are bad. I do this deliberatelybecause so many bad or mundane movies have interesting features.Danny Devito sometimes pops up as the interesting feature. This movie wasmade because they had access to a some chimps, and could drag out all the funnyface and human/monkey gags.This is casual filmmaking, and gives the impression that people just showedup for a week or so. In such cases, actors do their own work in making up characters.Devito is a smart guy. Watch how he places his character halfway between the humans andthe monkeys.Ted’s Evaluation — 1 of 3: You can find something better to do with thispart of your life.

What About movie – In Mexico City, the powerful and violent magnate of steel Oscar Cabos catches his daughter Paulina having sex with her boyfriend and his employee Javier Jaque” and he works Jaque over. On the next day, Jaque pays a visit to Cabos in his office and the angry man comes with a golf club to hit Jaque again. However, Cabos accidentally trips on a golf ball, falls on the floor and faints. Jaque calls his best friend Mudo to help him, but the janitor Nacho finds his boss fainted on the floor and he steals and dresses himself with Cabos’ clothes and jewels. Meanwhile, Nacho’s son Botcha and his friend Nico have planned to kidnap Cabos and they are waiting for him in the parking garage. When he walks in the parking garage, the two kidnappers hit him on the back of the head, believing that he is Cabos, they cover his head with a bag. They head with the abducted man to the house of Botcha’s girlfriend Lula. Meanwhile, Jaque and Mudo calls their wrestler friend Ruben “Mascarita” and his midget …”

If you liked ‘Snatch’, ‘Pulp Fiction’ or ‘Lock, Stock and Two SmokingBarrels’, then you’re in for a treat! This is such a great movie! It’sthe story of two guys in the night in serious trouble. They have onebody, one car and absolutely no idea of what to do with them. I won’tsay more, but I can tell you, you have to see this movie, it is aperfectly well done piece of movie making and as a bonus you get to seea De Niro’s memorable line acted by a Mexican, what can I say? it’shilarious. It’s a different, refreshing and funny way of making movies,specially for a Mexican movie. Don’t miss it, you won’t regret to seethis if you have the opportunity. Superb! 9 out 10.

DiversiГіn garantizada Fun for sureFunny from beginning to end, with great references to the classicMexican wrestling cinema (el santo) and very interesting characters,being “mascarita” and the cannibal unique, all mix up in a movie thatin my opinion didn’t had many expectations, but at the end it was allworth, really entertaining.Also, even though the acting from Tony and Kristoff is not Oscarwinning, is light but adjusts to the characters, simple and stupid, anddon’t forget “butcher”, a kind of nice psycho trying to avenge hisfather and being such a funny villain.

Directed – Directed by David Ayer. With Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie, Chris Evans. An undercover cop, disillusioned by the recent murder of his wife, is implicated in the murder of an officer and must struggle to clear himself.

What About movie – LAPD detective Tom Ludlow is a ruthlessly efficient, unorthodox undercover cop. Captain Jack Wander always covers for Tom, as do even his somewhat jealous colleagues. After technically excessive violence against a vicious Korean gang during the liberation of a kidnapped kid sex slave, Tom becomes the target of IA’s hotshot, captain James Biggs, who feels passed over after Wander’s promotion to chief. Tom’s corrupt, disloyal ex-patrol partner Terrence Washington sides with IA but is killed during a shop robbery in Tom’s presence.

When I first took this in at the theater, I had high expectations, andit still blew me away. I remain spell-bound by this. It is anextensively well-thought-out and entertaining film. The plot iscompelling, engaging and keeps developing, and while I had a hunchabout one twist, I did not see them all coming. This has spot-onpacing, not a boring second to be found, or an overwhelming one forthat matter. The cinematography and editing are excellent throughout.Every moment of the action is awesome, intense and exciting withoutbeing unrealistic(within the bounds of Hollywood, that is… which, ifgoing by this, is actually entirely acceptable), and there is a solidand fitting amount of it. The music is appropriate for where this isset, not to mention really cool, consisting mainly of hardcore rap. Asyou can probably figure out, the tone of this is brutal, dark andgritty, through and through, and should not be viewed by anyone who maynot be able to take it. The writing is astounding; the script, thedialog, the overall story, all of it. There is a lot of slang(thesubtitles certainly helped me out), and some instantly memorable andutterly quotable lines. Almost all of the humor, which is also veryrough(and the amount of which is considerable), lies in what is said,how it’s put and/or its delivery; think verbal, British comedy(withfour-letter words).
